6 Quirks About Me

Marie, at Naru Hodo, tagged me for this Meme....

Here's how it is supposed to work:
1. Link the person(s) who tagged me
2. Mention the rules on my blog
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of mine
4. Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

Quirk #1: I generally have no qualms about singing in public.

Quirk #2: I only have 1 quirk? Maybe I should consult my husband for more since I'm drawing a blank - HA HA!

Be back later!

A New Book: Message of Hope!

Message of Hope - The Words of Pope Benedict XVI in the United States

Author: John R. Waiss, Ed.

From the author:

Message of Hope gathers together the impressive words Pope Benedict XVI imparted during his U.S. pastoral visit in April, 2008. To help readers absorb and understand his profound message of hope the book also includes questions for study and discussion.

A pastoral visit of this kind should have lasting impact.

Thought-provoking questions for personal reflection help readers put the Pope's words into practice and so become the "People of Hope," he has called us to be.

The Pope came with a message of hope, offering us an optimistic vision of the Church. He spoke of a "new springtime" of Christianity in America, foretelling a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit mirroring that of the first Pentecost. He drew on all the positive elements of American culture, such as our love for freedom, our respect for civil rights and for diversity of religious expression, and our generosity in aiding those impacted by natural catastrophes.

Pictures from our 4th of July

This year, for the Fourth of July, we were invited to the Fourth Annual Block Party on July 5, at our friends home...they had two streets closed and lots of crazy fun!

Here are some highlights of our day - there was a bounce house, water slide, water balloons, karaoke - sorry I don't have any pictures of that for you but the girls and I sang, "Dancing Queen," from ABBA and then I did, "Let's Twist Again Like We Did Last Summer," from Chubby Checker and "Don't Cry for me Argentina!"

We had a wonderful time and didn't get home till 12:15am!

Direct hit in a water balloon fight!

Joy is being wet on a hot day!

Can you believe that this young lady used to be scared of dogs?

Waterslide fever!

Whoooo hoooooo!

Sisters and best buds!

Full of life and silliness!

Happy Fourth of July!

For the Fourth of July, after Mass, we marched in a community parade as representatives of the community softball league. Thankfully, temperatures here were mild for the mile and half march!

Before our move, we lived in this community for 11.5 years and went to this parade almost every year. Parade tradition is such that the parade participants give candy to the spectators...I'll let you in on a little secret....I was happy that we were walking this year as opposed to collecting sweets!

We hope your families enjoyed a beautiful Fourth and let's continue to pray for our country!

God Bless America!

FIREPROOF: Never Leave Your Partner Behind

Last night, Steve and I attended an advanced screening of this movie.

It was AWESOME!

The message that marriage is worth fighting for is delivered in such a sincere and touching way.

I could go on but I have to get out the door - but sharing this movie is important to me.

See for yourself, watch the trailer! The movie opens September 26, 2008.
